The Kodak PixPro AZ251, an easy-to-use entry-level digital bridge camera manufactured under license by JK Imaging, was launched in 2013. The camera has a 16MP CCD sensor, a 25x optical zoom lens which is a 35mm equivalent of 24-600mm, optical image stabilization, a 3-inch 230k rear LCD screen, 720p HD video recording, full auto as well as PSAM modes, panorama, HDR, and several scene modes and digital filters for more creative control. The 'AZ' is abbreviated for 'Astro Zoom.'

The camera does come packed with plenty of features for the beginner photographer, a superzoom lens with a close focusing distance of just 3cm, decent continuous shooting, manual controls, automatic HDR mode, and a menu system that is easy to navigate, albeit a slight difference in as seen from other cameras. Access to shutter speed and aperture settings is via the exposure compensation button, and changing the white balance is via the Set button. The 3.0-inch screen has a 230k dot resolution, typical of a budget camera, and is easy to see in bright light.

As tested, The CCD images rendered by the camera, as you see from the first impression shots, are sharp and clear well-exposed images with good color reproduction, with noise low at I00 to 200. The AZ251 is also installed with a range of digital filters that can be used both for shooting and video recording.
