It was very exciting, and I was totally elated when the lens came in. Didn't waste any time either as I got the lens unpacked and mounted on the Olympus E-PM2, and was out of the door grabbing these first few shots at wherever the camera was pointed. With a focal length equivalent to a 180mm telephoto lens on a full-frame camera, the lens needs more than just a steady pair of hands when shooting handheld. I pursued regardless and got away with these few images for the trial.

The Tamron SP 90mm 1:2.5, a "cult classic" macro lens, a favorite with many users, came with a great reputation for color rendering and excellent chromatic aberration correction. The lens does suffer a little from flare, so a lens-hood is recommended, where available. The first all-metal version of this lens was replaced by the 52BB, with a redesigned barrel with a bayonet fitting for a hood. An autofocus version 52E is also available.

Here's hoping for more images with this lens soon!

It must have been the vintage digital GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome), and whoa! I got myself an Olympus E-PM2 ILC, and an M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm 1:3.5~5.6 EZ to add to my collection.

Launched in 2013, the E-PM2 was an update to the E-PM1 (2011), a compact with the smallest and lightest footprint of any Olympus ILC, came with a 16MP CMOS sensor, the same as found on the E-PL5 and OM-D E-M5, often accolades as a class leader in image quality, a 3.0-inch touch screen, two additional buttons, a small built-in grip on the front panel, and weighs 269 grams with a battery and memory card.

The M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm 1:3.5~5.6 EZ, equivalent to a 28-82mm lens on a 35mm full-frame camera, is a very versatile lens, recommended as an all-rounder with a zoom range good for telling photo stories of a subject you are in, portraiture, landscape, and whatever you have in mind. The 8 elements in 5 groups (with 1 Super HR, 1 ED, and 3 aspherical elements) lens has a 5-blade diaphragm, a minimum focusing distance of 0.2 meters at 14mm, and 0.25 meters at 42mm, a minimum aperture of f/16, takes 37mm filters and weighs 93 grams.

Another set of crisp and colorful images with the vintage Nokia Asha 300 cell phone camera, launched in 2011, with only a 5MP rear camera, no front camera or flash support. I am still using the camera on the Nokia Asha, albeit occasionally, for the gorgeous images it will capture, and the ease of carrying it around. At 85 grams of body weight and a 113mm x 50mm x 13mm thick dimension, the Asha 300 is the smallest, slimmest, and lightest I have used.

Nokia Asha 300

Fully charged, the battery will still give up to a week on standby time, taking photos does not drain the battery too much either. The Nokia Asha is my go-to camera when going out for a quick dash, or when traveling light.

Seems that the Cimko Compact 28mm f/2.8 (also seen as Paragon PMC, Beroflex, Ensinor, Clubman..), a 25cm close focusing all metal construction, was made by Cima Kogaku who had a patented system that allowed the lenses to be built it with common bodies fitted with appropriate lens mounts.

The lenses were mostly sold OEM under a variety of different brands. In the UK, for example, they were sold by Photax as Super-Paragon PMC lenses, while Tokyo Kogaku sold them as AM Topcor lenses for their Topcon RM300 camera. Cima Kogaku also sold lenses directly under the Cimko brand.
