Fuji Cardia Travel Mini Dual-P, Light and Shade
The Fuji Cardia Travel Mini Dual-P, taking the claim that it was the smallest and lightest full or panorama frame 35mm AF camera when it was first launched, is not actually as petite as it seems. It is big when it comes to features and functionalities. Launched in 1990, the Cardia Travel Mini Dual P is a dual-lens camera. It comes with a 28/45mm F3.5/6.6 Fujinon lens system. The 28mm wide-angle end will bring you right into places and city streets, among the crowd and tall buildings, and the crisscrosses of light and shadows.
The 45mm standard is equally sharp and will take care of people and portraits, group portraits, and photo features. The changeover from one focal length to the other is by a switch on the top plate of the camera, and this is reflected in the viewfinder as well.
Film loading is drop-in, where the back is hinged to open just wide enough for the film canister and film tab to be slid into the opening. Film transport is pre-wound, and the exposed frames are wound back into the film canister as the shots are taken.
A couple of idiosyncrasies you have to adapt to are that the panorama switch is located within the film box area of the camera, meaning that the panorama is pre-set for the whole roll of film. The camera needs two batteries to run, a CR123A in the battery chamber, and a CR2025 3-volt button cell located under the metal film leader inside the film back.
The Fuji Cardia Travel Mini Dual-P also has an auto power-off switch that turns the camera off after 3 minutes of inactivity.

Analog Diary, A Walkabout With A Fuji K-28
The Fuji K-28, a waterproof and dust/dirtproof viewfinder 35mm film camera, designed and marketed for the construction industry, may actually be just the right candidate even for the streets, aside from being a constant companion on your off-road adventures.
The Fuji K-28 is a manual camera, though not autofocus like the Konica Genba Kantoku, or Fuji Work Record OP, and comes with a plain viewfinder, manual film advance, zone focusing, built-in electronic flash, and the icing on the cake, a sealed Fujinon 28mm F3.9 lens.
The lens is 5 elements in a 5-group construction, with a minimum focus of 75cm to infinity, The automatic exposure system recognizes film sensitivities from ASA 100 to 400 ASA, and image capture is aperture controlled as the camera runs only on a single shutter speed of 1/100 second and a pair of AA batteries to operate the shutter and power the flash./p>
The film back is also opened with a press-to-release button, and film loading is the standard sprocket fit. With its purpose-built design, the Fuji K-28 might not be as compact as you want it to be. Its fair size may need to occupy a section of its own when carried in a backpack or camera bag.

Fuji Work Record OP, On A City Street Walk
The Fuji Work Record OP, a ruggedly handsome autofocus camera with a pair of bull bars flanking a wide-angle 28mm F3.5 lens which is further protected by a 4mm thick coated optical glass, has an enormous viewfinder that lets you see all, and a ruggedized and water-resistant design that lets you capture images underwater up to the depth of 1 meter.
Available as a pair of siblings, the Work Record OP, with a blue button trim, targets the rough and tough outdoor leisure and recreational activities. The Work Record 28, with orange button trim, is the construction or site supervision-oriented camera.
Both technical aspects are similar, including the Fujinon 28mm F3.5 lens, shutter speed range from 1/5 to 1/250 seconds, DX-coded film ISO range from 50 to 1600, and power from a pair of CR123A Lithium batteries. The Work Record OP, in addition, has panorama and quartz date features, and a manual focusing mode which can be pre-set to 1, 1.5, 3 meters, and infinity focus.
The best thing about the Work Record OP is its simple and straightforward operation - just power it on, set the mode selection to the setting you want to shoot with, point, and shoot. Exposure and film winding are automatic, autofocusing is as quiet, and the large design shutter release button lets you shoot even with gloves on.
