The Olympus VR-370, a stylish portable super zoom compact introduced by Olympus in 2013, features a 16MP CCD sensor and a 12.5x optical zoom equivalent to a 24–300mm zoom lens on a 35mm full-frame camera. The metal-clad body, available in red, blue, black, and silver, is small enough to slide comfortably into any convenient space in a camera bag or a pants pocket, and is versatile enough to be used as an everyday camera, a street shooter, or for travel. Images are stored on an SD/SDHC/SDXC card, and the LI-50B Lithium-Ion battery the camera uses can be charged on board with a USB connection.

Outstanding features of the camera, aside from the exposure modes that includes Program, iAuto (Intelligent Auto), Beauty Scene, Magic, and Panorama, is a sophisticated Dual Image Stabilisation that cuts out blur and effects of camera shake, a 3.0-inch anti-glare LCD, an ergonomic grip, built-in lens shield, and motorized zoom control that is very convenient and easy to operate.

Other technical aspects of the VR-370, which is equipped with Olympus’s TruePic III+ processor, include a shutter speed range from 4 to 1/2000 second, ISO Sensitivity from 100 to 1600, and shoots 720p video at 30 fps. The camera measures 104.3 × 60.2 × 28.3mm, and weighs 172 grams body only.

For exposure management, the Scene Mode setting includes Sunset, Fireworks, Cuisine, Documents, Beach & Snow, Pet, Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Night+Portrait, Sport, Indoor, Candle, Self Portrait, and Sunset. In tandem, the Magic Art filter includes effects for Pop Art, Pin Hole, Fish Eye, Drawing, Soft Focus, Punk, Sparkle, Watercolor, Reflection, and Miniature. The Panorama Mode captures panoramic vistas while the camera is panned across the scene.

The Beauty Mode, which can register up to 3 settings, lets you apply cosmetic-like enhancements to portraits, either before or after taking the picture. Edits to lighten skin tones, whiten teeth, add blush, eye shadow, and lipstick are listed. The feature works on a taken portrait with an interface to apply these adjustments, similar to a photo editing tool.
